About Wellingborough School
Wellingborough School was founded in 1595 by Richard and John Wykes, Tudor benefactors, as a grammar school in the East Midlands market town of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The school operates today on a campus in central Wellingborough and educates around 800 pupils ages 3-18. The Headmaster is Andrew Holman. The school is a member of the HMC and is inspected by the ISI. The school operates a substantial bursary programme intended to preserve the founders' Tudor charitable intent of providing educational access for the boys and girls of Wellingborough regardless of family means.
