Wellington School in Somerset was founded in 1837 as a Methodist boys' boarding school in the West Country market town of Wellington, Somerset. The school should not be confused with the more famous Wellington College in Berkshire (founded 1859 as the national memorial to the Duke of Wellington) — the Somerset Wellington School is an independent Methodist foundation in the West Country tradition, taking its name from the town in which it sits rather than from the Duke. The Head is Eugene du Toit.
